Mark Henderson is an award-winning composer who left his hometown of Santa Barbara for Los Angeles, where he founded Blazing Cactus Music in the 1990s. At first a commercial jingle house, Blazing Cactus Music soon branched out to take on a wide range of musical projects for the entertainment industry.
Today, Mark is internationally recognized for his exceptional and enduring musical compositions. Known for his versatility and integrity, for over 30 years Mark has written memorable melodies for motion pictures, TV and radio commercials, events, corporate audio signatures, electronic media, acclaimed recording artists, and theater productions. His long list of prominent clients includes such highlights as: DreamWorks, Universal Studios, Motorola, Sea World, NBC, CNN, Reebok, Honda, the Smithsonian Institution, the Indianapolis Children’s Museum, the Santa Barbara International Film Festival, and much more. Mark was the resident composer for the nationally recognized, award-winning Santa Barbara Access Theatre for over a decade.

He has composed 11 musical productions, staged in the USA as well as abroad, including such prestigious venues as Los Angeles’ James A. Doolittle Theatre and The Kennedy Center in Washington, DC. His musical compositions for the Santa Barbara International Film Festival were an annual hit from 2003 to 2007. In 2011, he wrote the score for the award-winning animated film, “The Improbable Journey of Berta Benz.” In 2014, his work with the world-renowned Children’s Museum of Indianapolis landed a couple more Telly Awards. Recently, he has focused more attention on expanding his work in the burgeoning world of games and apps, while still very active in composing for film and Television. In 2016 he joined creative forces with the incomparable guitarist and fellow composer Kevin Chokan.

He divides his time between Los Angeles and Chicago.

Moving to Los Angeles in 1983, Kevin first met with Keyboadist/Producer George Duke on a demo session, which led to 10 years of collaborating and session work under the guise of George for many projects including playing on records for George Duke, George Howard, Howard Hewitt, Philip Bailey (Earth, Wind, & Fire), Stanley Clarke, Al Jarreau, Dale Bozio, Stephanie Mills, Japanese singer Hideke Seijo, Irene Cara, TV themes and commercials to name a few…

Also stemming from this was a 30 year touring span as a guitarist with artists as Chaka Khan, George Duke, George Howard, Philip Bailey, Diana Ross, Freddie Jackson, Peabo Bryson, Howard Hewitt, Gerald Albright, Rick Braun, and Jeffrey Osborne.

45 years of experience as a professional guitarist for recording sessions and touring. Toured worldwide with Diana Ross for 25 years as guitarist and Musical Director. Currently touring and recording with Jeffrey Osborne. Also a BMI songwriter and producer/engineer in a self owned professional recording studio, as well as a long time writer for Los Angeles based music library LAPM, Los Angeles Post Music. TV shows and networks include HGTV, The Food Network, numerous appearances on David Letterman, The Tonight Show with Johnny Carson and Jay Leno. Also HBO, Top Of The Pops (UK), Soul Train, Martha Stewart, and Inside The Actors Studio with James Lipton.
